As an fellow South African citizen living here,working here i can relate to the hardships the struggles and the means just to put food on the table for one’s family
Now i have been in the loans industry for more than 20 years and yes the times has changed,new goverment in 1994 and a lot of changes in our lives as South African ciitizens.In the loan industry the same it also went through major changes with the hope to protect the consumer from over indebtness,been over charged by cash loans that was not regulated at all.
Certain policies was put in place to regulate the loan industry for example fixed fees which all credit providers has to adhere to like intiation fees,monthly service fee,interest at 5% for new clients and if you are a repeat client 3 % and so ….
Goverent by the National credit regulator (NCR) who looks after clients rights one wonders how much the ordanary citizen’s life has really changed.Are we still in a situation where millions of people are jobless and struggle to feed their families.That is the reality of of our lives today and who can we blame.We often blame the goverment,or the situation i grew up in or the colour of my skin the point im trying to make is we too easily blame our poor situations or other people or situations.
This brings me to the reason for this blog and this website i want to make a diffirence in people’s lives but you must realise that it takes you as an individaul to be committed,focussed, and having a drive to make something better of your life.
As a branch manager some years ago for one of the biggest loan companies in S.A. i often saw how young people came in and dropped their CV’s looking for work and when you offer them a job as an agent to recruite clients for you they would decline it saying they dont work for commission only,they cant be walking in the streets or ,no this is not for me and then it just made me wonder do you really want to change your life for the better or are you just looking for a job where you can sit in front of a computer and do the minimum required of you
Not knowing that there are people out there that are depending on these types of jobs to survive ,to feed their families and put their children through school,and they are doing it with passion.I have met elderly ladies that should be enjoying their old age but in instead they are out on the streets recruiting some with walking disabilities earning their money through hard work.These ladies earned my respect and i have told that to many of them i respect what you are doing just to provide for your families and yourself.
Like i said things has changed a lot over the last 25 years and people change as well i suppose but 1 thing that i have learned you will not be successfull if you are not willing to work hard.Not everyone has the oppurtunity to study further or get a bursary or even finish high school but everyone can change their own situation for themselves if they are willing to work hard
I never had the oppurtunity to study further and the only job that i got was as an sales consultant in a loan company.There i proved to my self and to the company that i was a hard worker and got promoted twice and at the end of the day saw myself as an area manger but not only that i was one of the top area managers that exceeded in their positions.
That job changed my life it got my foot in the door, i am working for a company that is still growing and their might be oppurtunities for me in future.With a drive to succeed and the guidance from my mentoor and for which up and today i have the most respect i started climbing the ladder.I was promoted to a branch manager and to a area manager and i was so successfull and respected because i wanted to succeed and i had a drive to better my life.
That brings me back to the young people i offered jobs to as agents and declined because they cant be walking in the streets they want an office job,you have to start some where ,show people that you have a drive to succeed and work hard and i promise you today these are the kind of people that gets noticed where their are promotions or permanent positions available.Think about it….
Well here i am today having my own loan company,imagine that from been a sales consultant to owning my own buisiness,and my story is not unique their are hundreds of other peo[le that can tell you similar stories as mine, why?Because they grab every oppurtunity they get with both hands even if it is not the most glamorous oppurtunity but you and you alone can change that by working on yourself,improving your skills ,sign up for courses anything to better yourself and your changes to succeed.
Today i can tell you you about ways to succeed and you dont have to be employed with a company to do that.There are may ways of earning money,you just need to look for it and today i will assist you how you can do that
Ways to earn an income when you are unemployed
- Loans – The unsecured loan industry whether its personal loans ,consolidation loans,business loans these companies makes use of agents ,recruiters to supply them with business.They in turn pay commission to these agents and vary from 4% – 7.5%.These companies does not employ you full time but pay commission as your deals are approved.You determine your own salary,the more clients you refer the more commission you earn.You can work directly at the branch or if you have access to internet create websites to channel traffic towards them.Go and speak to the branch managers they are always looking for agents or search the internet and apply online and register with them you can do that from your home
- Insurance – The same apply to insurance companies they are also heavily dependent on people like you to promote their products and although their are a lot of different compensation plans when it come to insurance many of them has success stories of making huge amounts of money by selling insurance
- Network marketing – These companies structure consists of sales mostly products but on the other hand you also have to recriute new people to join.This way you become part of a network and you earn from your own efforts as well of the efforts of those under you that you have recruited.Again success stories of people making lots of money ,and this can become a permant job that requires daily commitment from you.
- Website design – This is a simple but effective way of making money you can design website and even apps for phones without any experience.No coding or difficult course you have to learn.I teached myself how to create website and its for free.To create a website or app takes between 2-4 hours and you can build a business on that.You can also have a traing course on how to design websites and earn an income from that and it will cost you nothing.
- Buy and sell – I think the most common of ways to make money but you need to search and find your market to sell to.Example : Go to Small str in Johannesburg where they sell cloths and you will find that some items sell for under R20.00.Most people do not want to go to JHB centre due to crime etc. so these items can be sold to a market like Alberton area where the market has more money in their pockets and sell that item for 3-4 times the purchase prize.Always be on the look out for bargains where ever you go and then buy and at profit.
- Education – One of the things that is high on South African people agenda is making sure they themselfs or their children get education.We are told without education you will not be successfull,The same applies here colleuges pays commission for recruiting learners for a variaty of courses from computer literacy ,call centre ,administration , etc….
